Finding—and Fine-Tuning—My Voice
Let’s talk about something that’s been on my heart lately: my voice.
Not just having one—but owning it.
Fully. Boldly. Unapologetically.
For the past year, I’ve been working on speaking up more. And let me be clear—I’ve made progress. A year ago, I was still second-guessing myself in rooms I had every right to lead in. I would sit on ideas, downplay my thoughts, or speak softly, hoping someone else would validate what I already knew to be true.
Now? I speak up. I take up more space. I say what needs to be said.
But here’s the thing… I’m still a work in progress.
Because even when I do speak, I’ve noticed something that stings:
My words often don’t land until someone else repeats them.
Someone with a louder voice. A more “commanding” tone. Someone people already perceive as powerful.
And I realized—it’s not just what I’m saying. It’s how I’m saying it.
I still catch myself using a soft tone when I need to stand firm.
I still make statements sound like questions.
I still shrink my voice in the name of being “polite” or “pleasant” or “not too much.”
Whew. That part.
So as I go deeper into my Mommy to Mami Makeover, I’m adding something new to the list:
Finding my full, magnetic voice.
Not just to be heard—but to be felt.
To speak in a way that commands respect, not just attention.
To use tone, volume, and presence that align with the confident, sexy, unstoppable woman I’m becoming.
Because the truth is—what I have to say matters.
And I don’t need someone else to echo it for it to have weight.
This isn’t just about communication—it’s about transformation.
About no longer dimming my light—or my voice—to make others comfortable.
So here’s to turning up the volume.
To clearing the throat chakra.
To stepping into every room with energy that says:
“I’m not asking for permission. I’m taking my place.”
Still evolving,
Still rising,
Still the life of the party—just louder now.
