The Becoming
A Ritual Experience
For the woman between who she was and who she is becoming.
There are seasons when you can feel yourself changing before you can name what is changing.
Something no longer fits.
Something else is stirring.
You may not know exactly where you're going, but you know you cannot return to who you were.
This is The Becoming.
This ritual was created for the sacred space between identities: the place where you honor what has been, listen for what is emerging, and give yourself permission to become more fully yourself.
There is nothing to figure out here.
Move slowly. Trust what arises.
Your becoming already knows the way.
Before You Begin
Set aside approximately 30–45 minutes when you are unlikely to be interrupted.
Create a space that feels sacred to you. You may choose to dim the lights, play music, sit at your altar, burn incense, pull out your journal, or simply sit somewhere quiet.
There is no perfect setup.
Gather the items from your Becoming Ritual Box:
Dissolvable paper
Compact mirror
Scratch-off message
Becoming Spell Jar
Self-Love Ritual Candle
Becoming Ritual Tea
A journal and pen
A small bowl of water
Take three slow breaths.
Place both feet on the floor.
Feel yourself arrive.
When you are ready, say aloud:
I honor the woman who brought me here.
I welcome the woman who stands here now.
I make space for the woman who is emerging.
Begin.
I. RELEASE
What no longer needs to come with you?
Take your dissolvable paper.
Before writing, consider:
What have I outgrown but continued to carry?
It might be a belief.
A role.
An expectation.
A relationship to yourself.
A fear.
A rule you inherited but never consciously chose.
A version of you who once kept you safe but no longer needs to lead.
Write whatever comes.
Don't make it beautiful. Don't make it spiritual.
Make it true.
When you are finished, hold the paper between your hands and say:
I honor the purpose you once served.
I release you from the work of protecting me.
I release myself from the work of carrying you.
Place the paper into the bowl of water.
Watch it dissolve.
Don't rush this part.
Notice what happens inside you as the words disappear.
Then ask:
What becomes possible when I stop carrying this?
II. SEE
Meet yourself here.
Take your compact mirror.
Look at yourself for one full minute.
Not at your hair.
Not at your skin.
Not at anything you have been taught to inspect, improve or criticize.
Look into your own eyes.
Stay.
This woman has lived every day of your story.
She has survived things.
Learned things.
Changed her mind.
Gotten things gloriously right.
Gotten some things spectacularly wrong.
Loved.
Lost.
Started again.
And somehow, here she is.
Ask her:
Who are you now?
Then:
What do you know today that you didn't know before?
What are you no longer willing to negotiate?
What do you desire now?
What part of you wants more room to exist?
You don't have to answer immediately.
Listen.
When you are ready, say:
I see you.
I trust you.
I will not abandon you in order to become someone new.
Place the mirror beside you.
III. RECEIVE
A message for the woman you're becoming.
Take your scratch-off card.
Before scratching it, close your eyes.
Place the card between your hands.
Ask:
What am I being invited to hear right now?
Then reveal your message.
Resist the temptation to immediately decide whether you like it.
Instead ask:
Why might this message have found me today?
Write your message in your journal.
Underneath it, complete this sentence:
If I trusted this message, I would...
Let the answer surprise you.
IV. HONOR
Light the flame.
Take your Self-Love Ritual Candle.
This flame is not for the woman you hope to become.
It is for all of you.
The woman you were.
The woman you are.
The woman you are becoming.
Light your candle.
As the flame catches, say:
I do not reject who I was to honor who I am becoming.
Every version of me carried something I needed.
Every version of me brought me closer to here.
I choose to meet my transformation with love.
Sit with the flame for a moment.
Let yourself feel gratitude for the woman who got you here.
Even the versions of her you don't particularly like anymore.
Especially those versions.
They were becoming, too.
V. CLAIM
Activate your Becoming Spell Jar
Your spell jar was created as a vessel for transformation, self-trust, courage and becoming.
Inside are:
Rosemary
For remembrance, clarity and protection.
I remember who I am.
Basil
For growth, expansion and forward movement.
I welcome growth.
Lavender
For peace, purification and spiritual alignment.
I trust the unfolding.
Rose
For self-love, worthiness and the heart.
I love myself through my becoming.
Bay
For intention and manifestation.
I claim what comes next.
Labradorite
For transformation, intuition and inner knowing.
I trust what I know.
The jar has already been created with intention.
Now you make it yours.
Hold the jar between both hands.
Close your eyes.
Imagine yourself six months from now.
Don't focus first on what she owns, where she lives, what she weighs, how much money she makes or what she has accomplished.
Look at her.
How does she move through the world?
How does she speak?
What does she believe about herself?
What has she stopped apologizing for?
What does she trust?
What does she allow herself to experience?
Now choose one quality she embodies.
Perhaps:
Courage.
Freedom.
Discernment.
Joy.
Visibility.
Peace.
Creativity.
Sensuality.
Trust.
Power.
Softness.
Choose your own word if another comes.
Hold the jar close and speak your word aloud three times.
Then say:
I honor every version of me that brought me here.
I release what I have outgrown.
I trust what is unfolding within me.
I welcome the courage to choose differently, the wisdom to hear my inner knowing, and the freedom to become more fully myself.
I do not chase who I am becoming.
I make space for her to emerge.
Your jar is now yours.
VI. COMMUNE
Sit. Sip. Listen.
Prepare your ritual tea.
Do not rush through making it.
Listen to the water.
Watch the herbs move.
Notice the aroma.
Feel the warmth of the cup between your hands.
This is part of the ritual.
If your Becoming Tea changes color when lemon is added, pause before adding it.
Look at the first color.
Then add the lemon.
Watch what happens.
Nothing about the tea has failed because it changed.
It simply responded to what entered its environment.
So have you.
So will you.
Take your first sip and ask:
What is changing within me that I have been trying to keep the same?
Sit with your answer.
You do not need to solve it tonight.
VII. EMBODY
Becoming requires movement.
Spiritual work doesn't end at the altar.
Insight eventually asks something of us.
Return to the quality you chose for your spell jar.
Ask yourself:
If I were already becoming this woman, what would I do differently tomorrow?
Not someday.
Not after you feel completely ready.
Tomorrow.
Choose one small, tangible action.
If your word is courage, perhaps you finally make the call.
If it is visibility, perhaps you allow yourself to be seen.
If it is freedom, perhaps you say no without explaining.
If it is creativity, perhaps you make something simply because you want to.
If it is trust, perhaps you make one decision without polling everyone you know first.
Write:
THE WOMAN I AM BECOMING...
embodies: _________________________
and tomorrow I will: _________________________
Let your spiritual practice become embodied practice.
VIII. CLOSE
Place your hands over your heart.
Take three slow breaths.
Look once more at the flame.
Then say:
I release the need to know exactly who I will become.
I trust the wisdom of what is unfolding.
May I recognize what has completed its purpose.
May I have the courage to release it.
May I hear what is calling me forward.
May I trust myself enough to answer.
I am not leaving myself behind.
I am becoming more fully myself.
When you feel complete, safely extinguish your candle.
Your ritual is closed.
Your becoming is not.
LIVE WITH YOUR SPELL JAR
Place your Becoming Spell Jar somewhere meaningful.
Your altar.
Your bedside table.
Your meditation space.
Your desk.
Your vanity.
Somewhere you will encounter it.
It isn't meant to become another pretty object you stop seeing.
Let it remind you of your word.
Hold it during meditation.
Place it beside you during tarot or oracle readings.
Journal with it nearby.
Return to it when you find yourself slipping automatically into an identity you've outgrown.
And at each New Moon, consider returning to your jar for a simple Becoming Check-In.
Hold your jar.
Pull one tarot or oracle card.
Ask:
What am I being invited to become now?
Then ask:
What action would honor that invitation during this lunar cycle?
Choose one.
Do it.
WHEN THE RITUAL IS COMPLETE
There may come a time when you realize this particular Becoming has completed its work.
You may know immediately.
Or you may simply look at your jar one day and realize something has shifted.
When that happens, hold it again.
Remember the woman who first activated it.
Remember what she asked for.
Remember what she feared.
Remember what she couldn't yet see.
And thank her.
You may keep your jar as a talisman or retire it according to your own spiritual practice.
You do not need to force the sealed jar open, nor bury glass, wax, crystals or other non-biodegradable materials in the earth.
Simply allow the ritual to be complete.
Because one day you may realize:
You are no longer becoming her.
You have become her.
And somewhere inside that woman...
another Becoming has already begun.
